What is Fantasy Football?
iDreamFootball.com Fantasy Football is a game based on the English Premiership in which you assemble a team of real life players, known as a dreamteam, and then score points based on those players' statistical performances, and our scoring rules, in real matches they play over the course of the Premiership season. More points will be accumulated by making good managerial decisions with your formations, transfers and use of substitutes to take account of upcoming fixtures, current form, injuries and suspensions. The aim of the game is to use your knowledge of the Premiership to accumulate more points than anyone else and to be at the top of the Leaderboard at the end of the Premiership season on 13 May 2007.
Getting Started
- Register with a valid email address and you will be sent an activation email.
- Click on the link within this email to activate your account.
- Enter your dreamteam name after activating your account.
- Purchase players by clicking on the PURCHASE links, which will bring up a window that allows you to search for players by club or name.
- Your total budget is £100 million. You may select no more than 4 players from the same club. For ease of reference you can download a full printable list of players and their prices from our downloads section.
Dreamteam Registration
Before you can take part in our fantasy game you must register your dreamteam selection. Until you do so you will have unlimited transfers to adjust your dreamteam but you will not earn any points until you have registered. This button will not be displayed for dreamteams created before the beginning of the season (before 19 August) as they will be automatically registered when the season begins.
Our game has a number of unique features that add a lot of playability. Some of these features and how to use them are explained below:
Transfers
You will be allocated 1 transfer each match week but look out for announcements on our website and weekly newsletter on transfer offers throughout the season. In weeks where there are mid-week games, no extra transfers will be allocated. You will not be able to carry transfers over - use them or lose them!
Throughout the season players will be transferred to other clubs in the Premiership or to clubs outside the Premiership. We have taken care of that for you. There are 2 types of transfers:
- If a player is transferred to another Premiership club, the player will remain on your dreamteam but his shirt will change. You will not lose any money in the transfer but if you sell him your transfer allocation will be reduced normally.
- If a player is transferred out of the Premiership his details will be edited to reflect this. As he will no longer earn any dreamteam points you can transfer him out of your dreamteam and your transfer allocation will not be affected.
Substitutions
Substitutions are optional but allow you to add up to 5 players to your dreamteam. While they are on your bench they do not score you any more points. So why use them?
Mid-week games, injuries and suspensions can be accommodated using subs. As you only have limited transfers each week you can use unlimited substitutions to sub a player off for another player on your dreamteam. Use your subs bench to bring players on for mid-week games and earn more points.
You will have to decide how to balance between your first-11 players and your subs. If players have mid-week games, sub them on for players who have games at the weekend and earn more points. You will not use up your transfer allowance and your players will stay on your dreamteam.
As players' values go up and down through the season you may have bought someone at a low price and by substituting the player off you avoid having to sell him to make room for other players only to buy him back later at a higher cost.
The subs bench has room for 5 players and a temporary sub. The players have their costs and current points shown. They will also have one of the following – (G), (D), (M) or (F). These letters relate to their positions – Goalkeeper, Defender, Midfield or Forward, allowing you see at a glance where you can place a substitute.
Temporary Sub (TS)
The temporary substitution is only used when you have a full 16 players in your dreamteam. The TS allows you to sub a player off and place him on your bench. You can then sub a player into the vacant position. The TS will then be placed in the empty position on the bench. This avoids having to sell a player and use up a transfer.
Example: If you have a full 16 players, simply sub a player off to the TS, bring on a sub to create room on your bench for the temporary sub. He will be placed in the empty spot automatically.

Formations
With our different formation options it may be possible for you to alter your line-up without having to sell your players. If you have room on your bench, sub them off, change your formation and edit your dreamteam.
Example: Changing from a 5-3-2 to a 4-4-2. You will have to either sell your 5th defender or if you have room, sub him off, change formation and sub in a midfielder if you have one.

Browse for players
This option allows gamers to view players' stats – points and costs without having to purchase them. This means that you do not have to commit to sell a player (and use up a transfer) to view other players for that position. You can choose any position to browse and have the option of searching by name or club.
By using the 'All Clubs' option you can view all players for the selected position. The players are listed by price and not points scored. Search down the list to see if there are players that are better value for money.

Web Technologies
iDreamFootball.com uses Web 2.0 technologies to update all changes to your dreamteam without the need to refresh the page. You will not need to save your current selection as it is done automatically.
